The Corporate Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer will manage the Company’s sales and business development activities, including developing and deploying new product offerings to U.S. Government end-users, such as High Throughput Satellites (HTS), and managed service capabilities.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Supports the Executive Leadership Team in achieving annual revenue targets
  • Leads pipeline development/capture activities for all US Government opportunities
  • Plans and executes the full range of strategic business development, new product development, and deployment tasks to meet customer requirements
  • Works with Government end-users to understand current/future mission requirements
  • Manage a pipeline of strategic business opportunities; conducting analysis and providing inputs to shape new product development programs
  • Plans/executes strategic business captures; managing, writing, delivering winning proposals; and supporting the establishment/stand-up of new contracts and programs
  • Gathers/disseminates business intelligence to provide early identification of new business opportunities, understands key success factors to win new business
  • Develops/deploys new products/services (HTS, managed services)
  • Organizes presentations, demonstrations, site visits to educate clients on products
  • Interfaces with customers to identify potential opportunities, understands requirements and develops effective responses to RFIs, RFPs and RFQs
  • Assembles winning teams (teaming partners) that complement the hiring company's capabilities and share similar business philosophies
  • Manages subcontractors, consultants, and team during capture/proposal efforts
  • Organizes/executes meetings with customers in Government and Commercial industry
  • Develops account plans for strategic programs consistent with business goals
  • Provides effective account management oversight for strategic customers
  • Provides strategic planning and analytic inputs for the corporate strategic growth plan
  • Conducts analysis/provides inputs to shape new product development programs
  • Applies emerging technology and products into practical applications utilizing commercial satellites to meet U.S. Government requirements
  • Leads/manages/mentors Sales and Business Development staff

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or 15+ years’ sales and business development experience in the satellite industry
  • Ability to be strategic/forward thinking and possess outstanding negotiation skills
  • Proven track record managing sales/business development to achieve revenue goals
  • Ability to identify, analyze, segment, target and win new business opportunities
  • Technical knowledge of competitors satellite fleet
  • Ability to work with Combatant Commands, Joint and Military Service customers, and U.S. military/civilian agencies, identifying, developing, and shaping products/services
  • Experience supporting U.S. Government commercial satellite communications
  • Solid background in U.S. Government end-user operations, mission applications, employment of satellite communications, and acquisition/procurement practices
  • Ability to identify, analyze, segment, target and win business opportunities for satellite based solutions, such as HTS and managed services
  • Ability to manage all phases of business development, including identification, qualification, proposal management, proposal writing and business closure
  • Knowledge of satellite technology needs, market trends, procurement practices of U.S. military and civilian government agencies
  • Experience developing/deploying new satellite products/services for U.S. Government
  • Ability to manage existing accounts to broaden company’s business base
  • Critical thinking, excellent written/verbal communications
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Outstanding presentation skills - presents inspiring satellite solutions to customers
  • Exhibit strong cross-functional leadership skills and work with multi-cultural teams
  • Ability to travel at least 30 percent of the time
