Overview:

The Financial Analyst is responsible for the analysis of financial and operational data necessary to identify and/or explain business performance and trends, develop forecasts and budgets and provide project/program finance control support. The Financial Analyst develops pricing documentation using spreadsheets and existing price models, performs cost price analyses, and supports “price to win” discussions and analyses.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Develops cost/price analyses for satellite communications solutions supporting U.S. Government
  • Supports maintenance of the GSA schedule of communications services and products
  • Forecasts financial and operational results supporting ad hoc financial, business planning, budgeting, and forecasting exercises
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of new pricing, budgeting, forecasting and project control models, concepts, and techniques
  • Leads price proposal development implementing pricing strategies and tactics to develop winning proposals in a U.S. Government Contractor environment
  • Provides inputs to schedules, templates, and pricing instructions for subcontractor proposals
  • Must understands the basis of estimates provided by the technical estimators
  • Understanding of contract types, internal/external reporting requirements, cost/revenue drivers
  • Develops and maintains program budgets including Estimates at Completion (EAC)/Estimates to Complete (ETC) models to support programs/projects
  • Establishes and maintains cost and schedule baselines
  • Develops Work Breakdown Structures (WBSs) and related dictionaries
  • Performs projection analyses of return on investment, cash flow and profitability for projects
  • Prepares written and verbal reports to management regarding cost schedule variances
  • Preparation of revenue and cost accruals

Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Admin/Management, Accounting, or Finance
  • Minimum of three to five years analyst experience
  • Experience with complex government contract based programs
  • Familiarity with GSA schedules
  • Experience preparing program analytics; including cost tracking, control, and variance analysis
  • Ability to develop efficiencies in program management and reporting
  • Knowledge of Government contracting industry
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting concepts and financial reports
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of invoicing FFP type contracts and revenue recognition
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to focus and concentrate on data analysis
  • Extensive technical knowledge using Excel
  • Experience with Cost Point financials and Cognos reporting desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint)
